About the Role

Are you a caring, dedicated, and resilient individual looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people?
We’re looking for a Support Worker to join our team and help provide a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment for children and young people aged 8–18 in a residential care setting.

You’ll play a vital role in supporting their emotional, social, and educational development while helping them build confidence and independence.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent day-to-day care and emotional support aligned with individual care plans.
  • Build trusting, positive relationships that promote self-esteem and independence.
  • Support young people with daily routines — including school, meals, and bedtime.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals to safeguard welfare.
  • Encourage participation in education, hobbies, and life skills activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports in line with policies and regulations.
  • Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours calmly and effectively.
  • Engage in supervision, training, and team meetings for continuous improvement.
  • Work flexibly across early, late, weekend, and holiday shifts.

What You’ll Need

  • Experience working in a professional care environment within the UK.
  • Confidence in managing and diffusing challenging behaviours.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to remain calm, consistent, and professional under pressure.
  • A genuine desire to support and empower young people.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings and late evenings.
