The Registered Manager Role

We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Registered Manager to oversee the operations of a children’s home. This key role requires someone who can deliver exceptional care while ensuring the home is fully compliant with OFSTED standards. You will lead a skilled team to create a welcoming, safe, and therapeutic environment where children and young people can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership: As the Registered Manager, you will manage the daily operations of the home, ensuring compliance with all regulations and high-quality care delivery.

  • Safeguarding Leadership: Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, embedding a strong safeguarding culture throughout the home.

  • Team Management: Lead recruitment, training, and development of staff, fostering a positive and professional team environment.

  • Child-Centred Care: Develop and implement personalized care plans tailored to the unique needs of each young person.

  • Stakeholder Relationships: Maintain effective communication with families, OFSTED, local authorities, and external partners.

  • Budget Oversight: Ensure the home operates efficiently within set budgets and achieves performance targets.

About You

To excel as a Registered Manager, you’ll need:

  • A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).

  • Proven experience as a Registered Manager in a children’s residential care setting.

  • Strong knowledge of OFSTED regulations and relevant childcare legislation.

  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate your team.

  • A commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for children and young people.

  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.

  • A full UK driving license.
