Key Responsibilities as Deputy Manager in a Children’s Home:

  • Support the Registered Manager in overseeing the smooth day-to-day operations of the children’s home, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.

  • Lead by example in delivering exceptional care and promoting a positive, child-centred environment within the children’s home.

  • Be instrumental in creating and implementing care plans tailored to each young person’s needs, ensuring they receive the best support possible.

  • Take responsibility for the development of staff, providing leadership and guidance to ensure high standards within the children’s home.

  • Safeguard and promote the well-being of the children, ensuring the highest level of care and safety in the children’s home.

  • Gain valuable experience by stepping into the role of acting Registered Manager, giving you the chance to grow and enhance your leadership skills.

About You:

To succeed as a Deputy Manager, you will be eager to advance your career in the children’s home sector. You will need:

  • A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), with a commitment to working towards a Level 5 qualification.

  • Proven experience in a children’s home or similar residential childcare setting, with leadership potential.

  • A strong understanding of OFSTED regulations, safeguarding, and childcare legislation.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills to inspire and manage a team.

  • A passion for developing both your career and the young people in your care.

  • A full UK driving license.
