An exciting new opportunity to join a dynamic organisation for a Senior Residential Support Worker and a Support Worker in our children’s residential home based in Horsham.

The successful candidate will have;
·Relevant experience as a Support Worker, Care Assistant, Care Worker or similar.
·A good standard of literacy. Must be able to write reports around individuals and significant incidents and able to write an application for the Level 3 Diploma
·A passion for making a difference in young lives.
·Resilience and a 'can do' attitude.
·A good understanding of trauma and ability to deal with challenging behaviour.
·Good communication and interpersonal skills to provide advice and specialist guidance to our children and families (once trained)
·The ability to be a positive role model for the young people.
·Excellent team-working skills.
Dealing with challenging behaviour (verbally abusive, possibly threatening behaviour)
Requirement for positive role modelling at all times and maintaining a consistency of approach
Dealing with constantly changing guidelines, procedures etc, that are being presented by our Governing Body
Developing a functional approach in young people who are likely to have been rejected or have serious issues in coming to terms with their behaviour
Support the young people to have equal opportunities to develop their independence & social skills in preparation for adult life.
Liaise with parents, carers, other 3rd parties and the staff team.
To safeguard and promote the welfare of young people.
Ensuring placement plans are followed, policies, procedures, risk assessments and rotas are in place and education is supported.
