Location: Fareham
Salary: Starting salary £31,899.92
Enhanced rate: £20.73 per hour
Expected earnings: Based on 1 sleep per week, annual pay would be approximately £34,484
Sleep-in allowance: £55 per sleep (10:00pm – 7:00am)
On-call: Must participate in the on-call rota
We are excited to be staffing a new children’s home and are looking for a Senior Support Worker to join our team from the outset. This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape a brand-new service and make a lasting difference to the lives of children and young people.
The Role
As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting children and young people with their daily lives, promoting positive outcomes, and acting as a role model for the wider staff team. You will support the management team with day-to-day running of the home, lead shifts, and ensure high standards of care are consistently delivered.
You will be required to take part in the on-call rota and work a flexible shift pattern.
Shift Pattern
You will work a mixture of earlies, lates, long days, and sleep-ins, including:

Early: 7:00am – 2:30pm

Late: 2:30pm – 10:00pm

Long Day: 7:00am – 10:00pm

Sleep-in: 10:00pm – 7:00am (£55 per sleep)
Often, an early shift will follow a late sleep. You will typically work 1–2 sleep-ins per week.
What We’re Looking For

Experience working with children and young people in a residential setting
- A Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare.

Ability to lead shifts and support junior staff

Strong communication and organisational skills

Flexibility to work a varied shift pattern, including sleep-ins and on-call duties
