We are looking for an experienced Senior or Deputy Manager to join a BRAND NEW EBD home located in Stevenage.

As our Deputy Manager, you’ll lead a supportive, skilled and motivated team to provide outstanding care for our young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties and complex needs.

Your leadership will shape the home’s culture, drive continuous improvement and ensure children feel safe, seen and supported.

You are someone who leads by example, stays calm under pressure and is driven to achieve the very best for young people.

You will bring:

  • Strong leadership and team motivation skills
  • Excellent communication and partnership-building abilities
  • Emotional resilience and a focus on positive outcomes
  • A child-centred, advocacy-driven approach
  • Solid understanding of legislation and Ofsted frameworks
  • Level 3 Diploma
  • Strong understanding of diverse learning needs, learning styles, and intervention approaches.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire a team, cultivating a supportive, high-performing environment.
  • Knowledge of legislation, policies, and procedures relevant to special education.
  • Flexibility and confidence working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Manager in overseeing all aspects of the Children’s Home, from program development to evaluation.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team, teachers, support staff, and therapists, while fostering a culture built on collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with families, educational partners, and external agencies to create personalised learning plans.
  • Monitor and refine interventions to secure positive outcomes for every child.
  • Stay informed on current research, best practices, and developments in special education, embedding new insights into service delivery.
  • Assist with budget management, resource planning, and regulatory compliance.
