Our warm, family style 3 bed residential home is currently rated Good by Ofsted and provides a safe, nurturing environment for young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
As our Deputy Manager, you’ll be an important part of the leadership team, working closely with the Manager to ensure the home runs smoothly and, most importantly, that every young person receives the high quality, personalised care and support they deserve.
You’ll lead by example, inspire and mentor a dedicated team, and help create a positive culture where staff feel supported and young people are encouraged to grow, develop and thrive. You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the home, shape best practice and make a genuine difference every day.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Manager in overseeing all aspects of the Children’s Home, from program development to evaluation.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team, teachers, support staff, and therapists, while fostering a culture built on collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with families, educational partners, and external agencies to create personalised learning plans.
- Monitor and refine interventions to secure positive outcomes for every child.
- Stay informed on current research, best practices, and developments in special education, embedding new insights into service delivery.
- Assist with budget management, resource planning, and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- Level 3 Children & Young People Workforce.
- Experience supporting people with challenging behaviour, ideally children.
- Strong understanding of diverse learning needs, learning styles, and intervention approaches.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire a team, cultivating a supportive, high-performing environment.
- Knowledge of legislation, policies, and procedures relevant to special education.
- Flexibility and confidence working in a fast-paced environment.
