A fantastic opportunity for Senior carers or experienced care professional looking to progress their career into a senior position. As a Senior Support Worker, you will play an important role in leading the team, supporting the day-to-day running of the service and helping the people we support achieve greater independence and live the life they choose.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the staff team during shifts, ensuring the service runs safely, effectively and to a high standard.
- Promote person-centred support that respects dignity, choice, rights and independence.
- Lead by example, creating a positive and supportive team environment.
- Support colleagues with day-to-day guidance, induction, training and development.
- Communicate effectively with management, families, healthcare professionals and external agencies.
- Identify and appropriately report safeguarding concerns, incidents and risks.
- Coordinate shift plans, including handovers, appointments, activities, support plans and daily tasks.
- Support the safe management, administration and auditing of medication.
- Ensure support plans, risk assessments, records and documentation are accurate and up to date.
- Support audits and quality monitoring across the service.
- Apply the principles of the Mental Capacity Act, including consent, capacity, restrictions and best-interest decisions.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, infection control and regulatory compliance.
- Take responsibility for decision-making in the absence of management, always acting in the best interests of the people we support.
- Identify training and development needs and work closely with management to support continuous improvement.
Essential
- Experience working within health and social care, supported living or a similar environment.
- Previous experience in a senior, supervisory or experienced support worker role.
- Strong understanding of person-centred support and safeguarding.
- Good communication, organisation and leadership skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make appropriate decisions in challenging situations.
- A genuine commitment to supporting adults with learning disabilities to achieve greater independence.
- Motivation to develop your career and take on additional responsibility.
Desirable
- Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification or equivalent.
- Previous Senior Support Worker or Team Leader experience.
- Knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and medication management.
- Experience supporting staff development, audits and care documentation.
