The Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you’ll help create a safe, nurturing, and stable environment where children and young people can thrive.
Working alongside a dedicated team, you’ll support young people with their daily lives, emotional wellbeing, education, and personal development while helping them build confidence, resilience, and independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Support children and young people with their day-to-day care, wellbeing, and development.
- Build positive relationships and provide consistent emotional support.
- Promote independence, confidence, and positive outcomes.
- Create a safe and therapeutic home environment.
- Safeguard young people and support their individual care plans.
- Work as part of a dedicated team and maintain accurate records.
- Encourage participation in education, therapy, and community activities.
About You
We’re looking for a compassionate, resilient individual who is committed to supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes.
You will need:
- Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification is essential.
- Experience supporting children or adults with complex needs in residential care, supported living, community, or education settings.
- The ability to build positive relationships and manage challenging behaviours calmly.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare.
- Good communication skills and confidence working as part of a team.
- Motivation to learn, develop, and progress within residential childcare.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
- A full UK driving licence.
