Senior Support Worker Role Details

  • To take a lead role working within a residential care team supporting children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties within a residential care setting.

  • Working under the direction of the Registered Manager to supervise a team of Support Workers to ensure children are kept safe and engaged throughout the day.

  • Dealing with challenging behaviour (verbally abusive, possibly threatening behaviour).

  • Being a positive role model at all times and maintaining a consistent and responsible approach.

  • Developing a functional approach in young people who are likely to have been rejected or have serious issues in coming to terms with their behaviour.

  • Supporting the young people to have equal opportunities to develop their independence & social skills in preparation for adult life.

  • Liaising with parents, carers, other 3rd parties and the staff team.

  • To safeguard and promote the welfare of young people.

 

Senior Support Worker Applicant Criteria

  • Experience: Applicants welcome from all social care, healthcare and education backgrounds as there are roles at various levels and numerous grades within each job title. If you have worked as a Support Worker, Care Assistant, Care Worker, Childcare Practitioner, Teaching Assistant, or other relevant role, please apply now.   • Working Pattern: Shifts are made up of Earlys, Lates and some Long Days on a rota basis. Some shifts will include sleep ins. Options may be available for those that can’t commit to a full working rota.
