Job description
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Manager to lead a brand new therapeutic residential care home in Worthing. You will play a pivotal role in creating a nurturing, structured environment that supports young people in building resilience, developing independence, and preparing for the next stage of their lives.
This residential children’s home will provide a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment for young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties, mental health challenges, and complex trauma histories.
The Role:
As the Registered Manager, you will:
Oversee the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring it operates in full compliance with Ofsted regulations and our Statement of Purpose.
Provide dynamic and motivational leadership, embedding a positive team culture of reflection, growth, and continuous improvement.
Drive a therapeutic approach to care that supports each young person’s emotional, social, and developmental needs.
Develop, implement, and regularly review individualised care and placement plans in line with best practice and therapeutic frameworks.
Champion safeguarding and child protection, ensuring a consistently safe and supportive environment.
Lead the home through Ofsted inspections, with a focus on achieving “Good” or “Outstanding” outcomes.
Manage budgets and resources efficiently to deliver high standards of care.
Cultivate strong relationships with external agencies, professionals, families, and internal teams to deliver joined-up, child-centred care.
About You:
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services. Candidates not yet qualified must be committed to achieving this rapidly.
A Level 3 Children & Young People qualification.
At least 3 years of management experience within children’s residential care settings.
Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, and the Children’s Act 2010.
Experience of leading Ofsted-inspected services with a track record of positive outcomes.
A deep understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed care, and the challenges facing looked-after children.
The ability to remain calm and confident in emotionally demanding situations.
Excellent organisational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
A sincere passion for supporting vulnerable young people and enabling their long-term success.
What We Offer:
A competitive salary ranging from £50,000 to £55,000
Flexible hybrid working to help you maintain a healthy work-life balance
Generous holiday entitlement, giving you time to rest, recharge, and take care of your wellbeing
Access to a market-leading pension scheme to support your financial future
A comprehensive induction programme to ensure you feel confident and prepared in your role
Ongoing training, development, and genuine opportunities for career progression
A positive, inclusive workplace culture grounded in strong values and mutual support
