We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Registered Manager to lead and oversee the operations of our children’s residential home. This is a pivotal role in ensuring the home provides a safe, nurturing, and high-quality environment for children and young people with complex needs, emotional and behavioral difficulties (EBD), and/or learning disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations and the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
Lead, manage, and inspire the staff team to maintain a culture of high standards, professionalism, and positive outcomes for young people.
Develop and oversee individualized care plans, ensuring the emotional, social, and educational development of young people.
Ensure strict safeguarding procedures are followed, promoting the welfare of the children at all times.
Oversee recruitment, training, and development of staff, ensuring a skilled and motivated workforce.
Conduct regular supervisions, performance reviews, and team meetings to enhance staff capabilities and morale.
Manage budgeting, financial oversight, and resource allocation to ensure efficient operations.
Act as the main point of contact for external agencies, social workers, and local authorities, ensuring effective multi-agency collaboration.
Lead Ofsted inspections, ensuring the home achieves and maintains a high rating.
Take responsibility for incident management, crisis intervention, and conflict resolution as required.
Participate in on-call duties and ensure the home is effectively staffed and managed at all times.
Requirements:
Minimum Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
At least 2 years of managerial experience in a children’s residential setting.
Strong knowledge of Ofsted requirements, safeguarding policies, and children’s home regulations.
Experience working with children and young people with EBD, trauma, and learning disabilities.
Proven ability to lead, manage, and develop a team effectively.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations with confidence.
A full UK driving license is desirable.
