We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Registered Manager to lead and oversee the operations of our children’s residential home. This is a pivotal role in ensuring the home provides a safe, nurturing, and high-quality environment for children and young people with complex needs, emotional and behavioral difficulties (EBD), and/or learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations and the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015.

  • Lead, manage, and inspire the staff team to maintain a culture of high standards, professionalism, and positive outcomes for young people.

  • Develop and oversee individualized care plans, ensuring the emotional, social, and educational development of young people.

  • Ensure strict safeguarding procedures are followed, promoting the welfare of the children at all times.

  • Oversee recruitment, training, and development of staff, ensuring a skilled and motivated workforce.

  • Conduct regular supervisions, performance reviews, and team meetings to enhance staff capabilities and morale.

  • Manage budgeting, financial oversight, and resource allocation to ensure efficient operations.

  • Act as the main point of contact for external agencies, social workers, and local authorities, ensuring effective multi-agency collaboration.

  • Lead Ofsted inspections, ensuring the home achieves and maintains a high rating.

  • Take responsibility for incident management, crisis intervention, and conflict resolution as required.

  • Participate in on-call duties and ensure the home is effectively staffed and managed at all times.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).

  • At least 2 years of managerial experience in a children’s residential setting.

  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted requirements, safeguarding policies, and children’s home regulations.

  • Experience working with children and young people with EBD, trauma, and learning disabilities.

  • Proven ability to lead, manage, and develop a team effectively.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations with confidence.

  • A full UK driving license is desirable.
