About the Role
As the Deputy Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Registered Manager to deliver exceptional care and manage the daily operations of our children’s home. This role is perfect for a motivated individual with strong leadership skills and a passion for ensuring young people thrive in a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Registered Manager in overseeing the home’s operations, ensuring compliance with OFSTED regulations and standards.
Act as a role model, supporting staff in delivering high-quality, child-centred care.
Contribute to the development and implementation of care plans tailored to individual needs.
Support staff recruitment, supervision, and professional development.
Lead shifts and ensure smooth day-to-day management of the home.
Take responsibility for safeguarding, health and safety, and the welfare of young people in the absence of the Registered Manager.
What We’re Looking For:
A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – willingness to work towards a Level 5 qualification is desirable.
Proven experience in a residential childcare setting, ideally in a senior or supervisory role.
Strong understanding of safeguarding, OFSTED requirements, and relevant childcare legislation.
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
A commitment to promoting the welfare and development of children and young people.
A full UK driving license.
