Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day care and support for children and young people in line with their individual care plans

  • Build trusting, positive relationships with children, promoting their self-esteem and independence

  • Support with daily routines including getting ready for school, meal preparation, and bedtime routines

  • Work proactively with colleagues, external professionals, and families to safeguard and promote the welfare of children

  • Encourage participation in education, leisure activities, and life skills development

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards

  • Respond appropriately to challenging behaviour and incidents, following established policies and behaviour management techniques

  • Participate in regular supervision, training, and team meetings

  • Work flexibly to cover a mixture of early and late shifts, including weekends and holidays as part of a rota

Requirements:

  • Experience working with a professional care setting within the UK

  • Experience in managing and deescalating challenging behaviours

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to remain calm and consistent under pressure

  • A genuine passion for supporting young people and making a positive difference in their lives

  • Must be able to work mixed shift patterns, including early mornings, late evenings, and occasional weekends

We have work available in children's homes, older looked-after-children (OLAC) settings, homeless hostels, and services supporting adults with complex needs. You choose your hours, whether Early's, Late's, Long Days or Nights, and the number of hours from 25-50hrs per week!
