Role Summary:
As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in promoting the health, development, and emotional well-being of the children in our care. You will:
Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to a team of support workers, ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality, person-centred care.
Therapeutic Support: Collaborate with clinical specialists to implement individualised therapeutic plans tailored to each child's unique needs.
Safe & Enriching Environment: Foster a secure, structured, and stimulating home environment that supports learning, emotional development, and social engagement.
Care Planning & Adaptation: Regularly monitor each child's progress, maintain accurate records, and adapt care strategies in response to changing needs.
Advocacy & Communication: Advocate for the rights and well-being of each child, and work in partnership with families, educators, and external professionals to ensure holistic support.
Safeguarding & Compliance: Ensure all care practices adhere to safeguarding protocols, regulatory standards, and internal quality-assurance procedures.
Individualised Support: Deliver one-on-one care to children with learning disabilities, addressing their personal, emotional, and developmental needs.
Daily Living Assistance: Support children with everyday tasks, including personal hygiene, meals, and participation in leisure or recreational activities.
Emotional Wellbeing: Provide emotional support to help build confidence, resilience, and a positive sense of self in each child.
Collaborative Working: Engage with colleagues across disciplines to develop and maintain a unified, therapeutic approach.
Progress Monitoring: Maintain detailed reports on each child’s development, identifying challenges and celebrating achievements.
Essential
Experience working with learning disabilities, ideally with children.
Level 3 Children & Young People or equivalent qualification.
Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to make a difference.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work as part of a team with the children.
