Job description

Lead and shape a new children’s home from the ground up.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Manager to take the lead in setting up and running a new children’s residential home in Kirkby in Ashfield. You will play a vital role in building a strong, child-centred culture from day one and establishing the standards that will define the home’s success.

As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality care, regulatory compliance, and a safe, nurturing environment where children and young people can thrive. You’ll lead a dedicated team, drive performance, and work towards achieving a Good or Outstanding Ofsted rating.

Salary and Bonus Package

  • Salary range: £55,000 – £65,000 per year

  • £5,000 bonus for achieving a Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcome

  • Work-from-home flexibility on certain days (reviewed after six months)

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the home in line with the Children’s Homes Regulations (England) 2015

  • Ensure high standards of safeguarding and care at all times

  • Establish a positive, child-focused culture from the outset

  • Develop and maintain care plans and risk assessments for each child

  • Recruit, train and support staff through supervision and appraisal

  • Manage budgets and ensure the efficient operation of the home

  • Oversee inspection readiness and compliance with Ofsted requirements

  • Maintain registration with Ofsted and the Disclosure and Barring Service

Requirements

  • Proven experience in managing or supervising in a children’s residential care setting

  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, regulatory standards and child protection procedures

  • Effective leadership, communication, and organisational skills

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (or willingness to complete within 2 years)

  • Passion for building a high-performing, supportive and safe environment for children

Additional Information

This is a full-time, permanent role. Some weekend availability may be required.
