​As Registered Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring that high standards of care are consistently delivered and that the home operates in full compliance with current regulations and best practice guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the service as Registered Manager, ensuring the care and safeguarding of all children and young people in the home.

  • Manage, support, and develop a team of staff, ensuring effective supervision, training, and professional development.

  • Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies to promote positive outcomes for children and young people.

  • Ensure compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and health and safety legislation.

  • Liaise with external professionals including social workers, local authorities, and education providers.

  • Monitor the home’s budget, staffing rotas, recruitment, and performance.

  • Participate in the on-call rota and provide support for sleep-in cover as required.

Person Specification

  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy in a residential setting for children and young people.

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it).

  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed practice.

  • Effective leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

  • Emotional resilience and a child-centred approach to care.

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance.
