Support Worker - Children's Home

Support Worker Role: The Support Worker role will involve working under the supervision and direction of the Care Manager to support vulnerable young people within a wide range of complex social, emotional and behavioural difficulties within a residential setting. You will be expected to provide a strong and reassuring presence for the looked after children, to act as a positive role model, and to be able to delegate duties and oversee the successful running of shifts. Typically shifts involve a mix of early and late shifts across the 7 days of the week and including holiday periods.

Person Specification: The ideal candidate will be a switched-on self-start with an eye for details who is able to act on intuition and make good judgement calls drawing on experience to stop challenging situations occurring. We are looking for somebody reliable to work on a regular basis who is confident at dealing with challenging behaviour. Strong previous social care experience is essential. Non-Reliance on public transport is essential
